The A.S. Popov Central Museum of Communications, one of the oldest museums of science and technology in the world, is located in the historic centre of St. Petersburg, near St. Isaac’s Square.

Nowadays these archives and collections contain well over 8 million items, they consist of authentic documents and objects relating to the history of post, telegraph and telephone, radio and broadcasting, space communication and all modern means of telecommunication. The Museum cares for 15 000 apparatuses and technical pieces, 50 000 archival documents, vast collections of “marks of postal payment”, including the eight-million items Russian National Collection of Philately, specialized research library with 50 000 books and periodicals.

The new museum’s exposition introduce not only valuable objects relating to the history of the development of postal service, telegraphy, telephony, radio, television, satellite and space communication, but also provides for visitors a good opportunity to familiarize themselves with the new achievements of Russian and foreign firms and companies working in telecommunication industry that experiences nowadays so rapid a development.

New space halls have modern equipment and all possibilities for holding conferences, seminars, business meetings etc.

Great hall

The great hall with vast space and unique architecture was restored to its original appearance. It was designed and built by Giacomo Quarenghi in the end of XVIII century. Magnificent interiors, strictness and lightness of architecture underline the status and importance of the event.
Here the conferences with number of participants up to 400 persons are organized. There are round and square tables for buffet.

Ante-room

Ante-room with its rich decor is connected with the Great hall. When an event takes place in the Great hall, Ante-room is perfect fit for registration of the participants and coffee breaks.

Small conference-hall

Architecture and decor of the small conference-hall creates business atmosphere. Here the conferences with number of participants up to 100 persons are organized using different seating plans and sound reinforcements.
Sound reinforcement and audio systems:
For events with number of participants up to 50 persons is offered seating plan "Round table" (each participant has his/her own microphone)
For events with number of participants from 50 to 100 persons the hall is equipped with special conference-shelves for writing.
The hall is equipped with audio conference system, simultaneous interpreting system (into 2 languages), audio and video recording, LCD screens.

Atrium 1

Special feature of the Atrium 1 is a real communication satellite, exhibit of the museum. Modern interiors of the Atrium let to provide events of different format and level.

Computer room

The room is equipped with 15 computers connected by LAN. The computer room is perfectly fit for small conference or seminar. There is only one seating plan.

Internet center

Internet center is situated on the territory of Atrium 1 and opened for all visitors of the museum. 17 work places have Internet access.
