Hotel "Samson"

First the hotel opened its door for the guest in 19th century. It was built opposite the entrance to Upper Garden of Peterhof. The restaurant was especially popular. Alexander Dumas praised its cuisine in his memoirs. Pestle, Schwartz, Tolstoy and Grigorovitch used to come here.

In the Soviet years the hotel was destroyed by a fire, and now, almost a century later, in May 2008 «Samson», totally reconstructed, opened its doors again to create the unique atmosphere for guests in the new building near the emperor palace.

«Samson» hotel is a 3-star hotel. The hotel offers accommodation in 59 rooms, including 10 rooms category «Deluxe» and 3 rooms for disabled people.

There is a restaurant for 90 persons in the hotel, which offers its guests to enjoy the authentic Russian and European cuisines.

«Samson» hotel is located in the central part of Peterhof, in the area of the former Truveller’s estate, opposite the central entrance to the Upper Garden from one side and on the Olgin lake bank from the other.

Petrodvorets (Peterhof) is one of the largest -architectural complexes of the Saint Petersburg suburbs. Wonderful parks, fountains , majestic palaces, golden statues of the ancient gods, the excellent collection of sculptures, paintings and works of decorative art - all this is Peterhof, often called the «capital of fountains».

One of the numerous parks of Peterhof is the Colonial park. It is not large, only 29 hectares, its most area is Olgin lake with the two islands, decorated with the silver willows alley. The lake itself got this name in the honour of the grandt princess Olga, the daughter of Nicolas Ist There are Olgin and Tsaritsyn pavilions built on the islands.
